In many ways, the area is best explored on foot. Just 5-10 minutes west and you’re venturing into Tottenham Court Road, Soho and the west end. The same distance east and you’re approaching St Pauls and Barbican. If transport is your preferred method, Holborn, Chancery Lane and Farringdon Tube stations cover the Central, Piccadilly, Elizabeth, Circle, Metropolitan and Hammersmith & City lines.
A little-known fact about Holborn is that the exterior of the tube station and the area around Chapel Market were used in the opening credits of sitcom “Only Fools and Horses”, despite the show being set in Peckham.
