We’re supposed to be in a spiral of despair about Brexit, Trump and now the snap election – #Sorrynotsorry guys but we’re just not. We’re excited, and more importantly we’re excited for you.
Despite there being understandable concerns over what the heck might happen over the coming months and years with the world economy, the London serviced office market still seems to be thriving. The Boutique Workplace Company is still enjoying high-as-ever office enquiries, and an increasing demand from existing tenants to increase their footprint in our buildings. If there are to be wider reaching effects of what’s happening around us, currently British industry is blowing raspberries in its face.
And with that we are just a little happy to tell you about our latest Central London acquisition – 29 Clerkenwell Road – a new jewel in the crown of an already very healthy London offering. Spanning 17,500 square feet it jumps straight to the top of the pile as the largest building in our group of boutique workplaces, and combines large open-plan office space with various sizes of private office suites, meeting rooms, Event Space and even hot desks.
Picture the scene – It’s a sunny morning, you put on your coolest pair of sunglasses, jump on your Brompton and enjoy a leisurely cycle through the beautiful streets of Farringdon and Clerkenwell, stopping only to collect your delicious cup of (>insert drink of choice here<) from our neighbours Workshop Coffee. After dropping your bike off in the secure ground floor lock up of our cyclist friendly workplace, you take the lift up to your own warehouse style self-contained floor with wooden flooring and exposed brick walls and walk through your own private roof terrace to your executive suite. You then discover that removing a book from the ‘bookcase’ actually opens a secret door to Narnia (just kidding) but to your own en-suite bathroom where you take a shower and get yourself ready for the day in the comfort of your own space. You put your sunglasses back on and make your way on to the roof terrace where, with the sun beaming on your face, you get down to work. Sound good? This could become your reality.
Aside from the roof terrace, the stand out feature of this flexible workspace will be seen through it’s cavernous lower ground breakout area and event space. Beautifully designed by Lucy Abbott of Create Interior Design, clients will enjoy a purpose built space the likes of which rarely come along. Included within the innovative design is a 12 meter long bar, multiple interview and boardrooms, a membership lounge, free freshly ground coffee and juicing facilities, full audio visual equipment and a state-of-the-art sound system. It will also be listed as our 4th official Event Space in zone 1 alongside our Kings Cross, Old Street and Shoreditch venues.
Upon acquiring the building our Director Daniel had this to say ‘’Due to high-demand, we have been looking for a 2nd building in Clerkenwell to neighbour our existing site on St. John Street for quite some time, however, the right building has never come along.As soon as Kontor showed me this opportunity, we knew it was the perfect space for us. Location combined with the facilities means the possibilities are endless and we are confident this will be a renowned site’’
The site will comprise of one floor of private offices and four floors of open plan offices ranging between 1500 – 2900 square feet.
