A creative and commercial epicentre in East London, home to innovators and boundary-pushers.
Positioned on the western edge of East London, Shoreditch is an area in the borough of Hackney that’s become well-known for generating some of London’s coolest cultural and creative output. It’s filled with fashionable cafes, bars, coffee shops, and restaurants, all frequented by the professionals who live and work in Shoreditch and make the local business scene as iconic as it is. And, flanked by areas including Hoxton, Liverpool Street, and Bethnal Green, there’s plenty to see and do even beyond the bounds of Shoreditch itself.
Shoreditch was formerly known as a predominantly working-class residential area, but London’s continuous growth over recent decades have seen it become a hub for hundreds of businesses, primarily in the creative, arts, and tech sectors. In fact, the world-renowned East London Tech City, which has been home at one time or another to companies including Deliveroo and Monzo, is based around Old Street just on the edge of Shoreditch. That means businesses that base themselves in Shoreditch office space join a long list of exciting, innovative companies that have pushed the envelope from the same area in the past.
Part of the reason Shoreditch makes such a great office space location is that it features strong transport connections, opening up other areas of London and destinations even further afield. Shoreditch High Street features Overground connections, leading deeper into East London and south of the Thames. Nearby Old Street and Bethnal Green Underground stations offer Central and Northern line services. And Liverpool Street Station, just south of Shoreditch, offers access to the Elizabeth Line, as well as mainline connections heading to diverse destinations, including Cambridge, Hertfordshire, and Essex.
